Mandalas are described as a form of Sacred Geometry.
Sacred Geometry, in the visionary arts world, or geomancy as it is known, is a language in symbols of spiritual inspiration.

Mandalas are thought to enhance consciousness of spirit like music calls the soul to dance.

Sacred Geometry has been used throughout ancient times as crests, emblems, in  architecture - as feng shui in many churches, mosques and Holy sites – and in gardens. In modern times they are being expressed without Deities or Demi-gods, but originally presented in sand, jade, red granite and gold dust to subtly create a spiritual uplifting ambiance.
